American moving to Bucharest

coreysvogel

Hi!  My name is Corey and I just wanted to introduce myself.  I will be moving to Bucharest in August to work as an English teacher.  It would be cool to start meeting some people online who live in Bucharest so that I can know a few people before I get there.

Peace!

Hi Corey, I too will be moving to Bucharest from the us hopefully by august.  I am looking into neighborhoods and schools for my two kids.
Will be nice to meet up with others in the same situation.

Hi Corey and thank you for this introduction.

I hope that you will have lots of nice contacts here.

All the best,
Harmonie.

Hey Corey,

The American society is very large and active in Bucharest. Attend a meeting of the AmCham, the American Chamber, and you will in touch with ppl very easy.

Most foreign communities in Bucharest have their own 'pubs' and places where they meet. For the Dutch, but in fact for all nation alisties, it is Grand Cafe van Gogh in Lipscani (opposite the National Bank of Romania). Also Galleron, near the Hilton Hotel and behind the Atheneum, is a popular place for expats.

Have fun!

The meetup is international, not only French.

Hey everyone, sorry that I haven't posted for a while.  I love Bucharest and I've made friends, but the more the merrier! :)  That French meetup sounds cool.  I don't speak any French but I could learn a few phrases beforehand and pretend like I know what I'm talking about.
