Moving to Mexico with my cat

Lorenzo Ursano

Hello everybody this is Lorenzo from Italy, could anybody give me some more informations concerning the papers and burocracy necessary to take my cat with my to Mexico? Coming from Europe is the certificate mandatory? I already checked the Mexican embassy website and I would like to know if the certificate required has to be written in spanish, or maybe in english, or if it is accepted even if written in italian.  If the certificate should lack some of the requested elements what could happen then? Is my cat coming with me to a local veterinary to fulfill the lacking parts or is she going to be restained in custody?  Are controls very strict?
Thank you for your time and attention, any indication and advice is really welcome.

Welcome to ex-pat Mexico Lorenzo,

People have not had a lot of difficulties bringing pets so far. Their main concerns seem to be that some veterinarian has certified that the animal is healthy and does not pose a risk.. Previously there has been no major problem, of course, if I were you I would check again on the Mexican gov. site just to be sure. After all, we live in very changeable complicated times.

Buena suerte

Lorenzo Ursano

Thank you for your feedback.
Muchas grazias y suerte a ti tambien!
