Linux - Systems Administrator

Our successful Systems Administrator, or SysAdmin, is an IT Graduiate or Post graduate professional with atleast 3 years hands on experience in configuration, maintenance, routine backup and restore, and reliable operation of Linux servers on both Physical and Cloud Environments. Ensure an organization's IT infrastructure functions smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This includes installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software, monitoring system performance, implementing security measures, and providing technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities of a Systems Administrator:
Installation and Configuration:
Setting up and configuring computer systems, servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with computer systems, networks, and applications.
Security Management:
Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
System Monitoring:
Continuously monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and taking proactive steps to prevent problems.
User Support:
Providing technical assistance and support to end-users on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Documentation:
Creating and maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
System Upgrades and Maintenance:
Applying updates, patches, and upgrades to hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and security.
Network Management:
Managing and maintaining local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
User Account Management:
Creating and managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Performance Optimization:
Tuning system performance to ensure efficient operation and resource utilization.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Implementing and managing backup and recovery procedures to protect against data loss.
Staying Current:
Keeping up with the latest technologies and trends in the IT industry to ensure the organization's systems are up-to-date and secure.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, networks, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of IT security best practices.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
