Giving birth at St James's Hospital by sarah101
Hi there, I'm looking to hear from anyone who has recently given birth at St James's Hospital. What kind of care they received/their experience and costs if possible. Many thanks in advance :)

I give birth in the Sliema St James hospital in February 2012. The experience was excellent. Not a luxurious hospital but they have all you need for an uncomplicated birth. I had the best Midwife ever (Carmen) and it was my best delivery (it was my ... Read More

Schools by Groto
Does anyone have an opinion on the QSI school, or Chiswick House? Positives and negatives would be appreciated!

QSI school in Mosta is a small school following an American curriculum. Positive: Classes are very small (10 students max.) and teachers can spend a lot of time with the kids. It is the closest you get to homeschooling (-: in a school. Is like a ... Read More

English Primary Teacher Moving to Malta by Shinysarah
Hi, There's a good chance we'll be moving to Malta next year and I'm currently a primary teacher. I'd like to stay in a school which delivers the British curriculum for obvious reasons...Would this be a realistic possibility? Many thanks Sarah

Hi Shinysarah, As I said in another post I think it is very likely to get a job in an international school. They should appreciate to have a teacher that is native speaker. But the best thing is to start asking the schools itself. That is much ... Read More

Moving to Malta by Shinysarah

Dear Shinysarah, I am a teacher myself (secondary school), and I have found that the international school do not required that teachers speak Maltese. I have found a job in one of them. I am not sure for primary teachers, but it would make sense to ... Read More

Beware Paceville by hammersfan
The daughter of a good friend of ours was drugged in Paceville and then taken somewhere else and gang-raped by 4 men on Tuesday night. Make sure you, your daughters, friends etc. stay safe, esp. if you/they visit Paceville at night.

Oh my god!! That is so so terrible! I am sorry for her and her family. These things should never happen. In any country. Hope she manages to suffer as less as possible. And we will be aware and be careful. Read More
