The world is changing

Fred

Fusion is being attempted in many countries, but this announcement is seriously epic. They got more energy out then they put in, and a lot more.

Let's get nutty for a moment and say these (or one of the other teams around the world) does what we were told was impossible outside Star Trek and builds a working, commercial scale fusion power station.

That means effectively unlimited energy with zero pollution ... and electric vehicles because old fashion oil burners would be ridiculously expensive to run compared to the cheap electricity fusion will eventually produce.

However, just in case anyone things my usual pessimistic view of human stupidity has faded, that leaves countries in the Lithium triangle and RRE producers strategically important, thus some greedy twat will destabilise their government and start wars to grab those materials.

As is so often the case, we have something that could change the world for the better in a massive way, but a few politicians will ruin it.

Welcome to tomorrow - the same as yesterday but with a different excuse for greed and stupidity.

Fusion is a long way from becoming profitable, Energy produced was larger than the laser's output... but those lasers only put out <1% of the energy they've been fed.

Historically, these technologies advance with critical speed when they have a use in war. Unfortunately the war machine already has too many global destruction capable weapons, so the general good this could do gets stuck behind politicians.

Sorry mate - but that story is total crap. I suggest you look up Sabine Hosselfender on Youtube and listen to her expose the fake news (lies) that the fusion research 'industry' has been getting away with for decades.

In an nutshell they (fusion scientitsts) have been pulling billions out of research funds for over 50 years, and they aint got close to making fusion work - and they never will in earth's gravity field. But they sure are good at 'marketing' that they are getting closer and closer - but the truth is they are not really.

The issue is not getting a Q Plasma value of 1+ (as they recently claimed to have done) - more in than out of the fusion generator - it is Q Total that matters. The Q TOTAL of energy going in, is far far greater than the total of energy coming out - even if the Q plasma is positive.  It takes lots of energy to get the lasers etc to work and they put that into the plasma generator - but they dont measure that.  The 'energy' that comes out is in the form of heat (like a nuclear rector) and that then has to be turned into energy - but they dont measure that.  The Q Total figure is not mentioned by the fusion industry researchers - they only talk about the Q Fusion figure. And they make no attempt to correct all the media crap that says fusion is working.  Their livelihood depends on positive news encouraging more funding - like many other 'scientists' (I wont state the others) - they are basically conning everybody.  IMO it is about time we and politicians started pushing back on the crap, lies and exaggerations of all large scale scienctific research - and there is a LOT of it going on and it has been going on for many decades.
