Scuba Diving - Douala

I did my due diligence (Google search) and find that no one has asked about scuba diving in this forum since 2012. That said, I would like to revive the topic as we close 2024 to see if any changes have occurred in the years in between.


Any PADI dive centers with organized groups? I received an offer from a travel office providing boat and air cylinders but nothing else - 700USD for a day. Too rich for me.

Any dive centers close to Douala or are there only sites around Kribi?

Can't change the currents and/or weather so is it correct that visibility isn't very good along most of the coast?

My time in country will be short this time and I have much more to check out. Is it worth the bother to try to find the diving? Thanks all.

Hello

I'm not a diving specialist but I know that it's not an activity that should be practised casually and I don't know of any activity in Cameroon that is practised with a minimum of seriousness.

And maybe even before money, my life would be something I wouldn't entrust to anyone in Cameroon.

As a serious activity, I'd recommend beer tasting. There are plenty of amateurs, even if amateurism flirts with professionalism in this activity.
