Welcome. Your husband obviously can return to Mauritius at any time. You can too as his spouse, provided you have registered your marriage etc and got all the necessary paperwork done. You might find it easier to get a job if you are physically in Mauritius and can show you are Mauritian by marriage.

Why not write to the banks/financial companies in Mauritius directly with your CV and skills and see what they say? Schedule a few meetings and come over. See if your husband can also get a job -- he has no restrictions anyway.

I am sure there are others in your position who will be able to give better advice.

The idea was to try to find a job from Switzerland before going to Mauritius. Because it would be too risky for us to go there without jobs knowing the charges that we have with our baby.

And if we understood correctly, if we go there and I apply as a spouse of a Mauritian citizen that would mean that it would be as a local therefore with a lower salary.

But as you said, I can try to send directly my CV to Mauritian firms, if anyone as any contacts to give me.

It's a myth that foreigners earn more than Mauritians (same company, same job, same qualifications). In other words, you won't get a better job or salary with a different permit.

You are being advised to apply for a Residence Permit as a Spouse of a Mauritian Citizen because it's a lifetime permit, with which you can obtain a free Work Permit, as opposed to an Occupation Permit, which is more expensive and needs to be renewed for every job change.

Have a you applied to job postings on LinkedIn? This would be the first thing to do. It helps if you mention early one (top of your CV) that you are planning to relocate to Mauritius, give a time frame and mention that your partner is a Mauritian national. This is a signal to employers to your immigration procedures will be cheap and fast and that your plans are clear and not likely to change.

Caveat: the Residence Permit is a little slow to get, you might want to travel to Mauritius in advance to get it done and you need to get the required documentation in your birth country ASAP. That can take some time because documents need an apostille.
