Family areas close to commodities in Mauritius

Nmuhammad

I am going to Mauritius to do some scouting around to see if this is a place I'd like to retire. I'm 50, so I will qualify for the visa. I'd like not to have to buy a car right away. I'm living in Malaysia now, and before that, I lived in Turkey. Both of these places are very walkable. Are there areas like that in Mauritius? If so, what areas? I want to live in a family area, not right on the beach. My main thing is being able to walk to the shops or malls or hop on the light rail easily.

Thanks

In your case, somewhere near Grand Bay La Croisette , in the north of Mauritius, would be idéal.

Grand Bay does not have the light rail/metro. Somewhere like Sodnac or Curepipe might be better. Unfortunately, the Metro does not get to the beaches.
