Oliyah

Hello everyone!
I am new member on this forum and very excited to hear the truth about beautiful island. Maybe it all looks paradise....but how is it in reality? I live in fake paradise called Dubai. i want to closer to the nature and simple lifestyle. Tired if Dubai.
My question is how real is it to open to Mauritius and set the business there? I am from beauty industry, I am thinking of beauty services. Thats what I am good at and whats I know.

Thanks in advance to all participants !!!

Hi oliyah please note that on the BOI website of mauritius you will be guided step by step of how to settle and invest in Mauritius.I highly recommend you to have a look and it's free to inquire.                                          best regards,

Oliyah

Thanks Mike. How easy or difficult the situation with small business on Mauritius when it comes to setting, running, demand.
Cheers

Hi Oliyah,

Setting a business means that you will likely fall under the 'Investor' scheme of the Board of Investment. However, it is not a question of small or big business as you will naturally have to adhere to the conditions imposed by the BOI to get your Occupation permit and its eventual renewal if you wish after 3 years.

Investor: The business activity should generate a turnover exceeding MRU 4 million annually with an initial investment of USD100,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currency. If there is more than one investor in the same company applying for an Occupation Permit, the turnover criteria should apply in respect of each applicant (i.e MRU 8 million for two applicants, MRU 12 million for three applicants, and so on)

The ease to do business will depend on your business plan and the time it takes to get your Occupation permit.

As for the business itself, many factors will come into play: The services/products you are offering, the location, the marketing, etc.
Being from Russia, I would suggest you bring some aspects of Russia and Russian culture into your business so as to stand out in the crowd.
You can contact me via private message for any other queries.

Hi,

I too moved out of the so called fake paradise in Dubai after living there for 18years. Now I am living in Mauritius the real paradise and I have my own travel and tourism  business. I am currently in India to open my branch office.

Mauritius is moving slowly but surely forward and if you accept the country with an open mind , you will love the country and the people locals as well as expats.

I look forward in returning back to Mauritius very soon.

Cheers
Terence
