Learning Spanish

Lamido

Hi,

I live in mauritius and I'm a Mauritian. I've just came accross this blog as I want to learn the spanish language and I wanted to talk and make friends who uses currently the spanish language.

I think that most of you are busy but if later on you have some spare time feel free to mail me.

P.S: I am starting to learn spanish on my own so it will take a little time to be a little fluent in spanish. I anyone could advise me on the way I should tackle my apprentiship, you are most welcome.

Thank You

Linley Isabelle

Hi Linley!
I am exactly in the same "process", learning spanish on my own, and looking forward to meet spanish-speaking people to practice... Did you meet anybody in Mauritius speaking Spanish?
Talk to you soon! (in spanish?)

I am learning Russian.Ìý But, I am willing to converse, or teach Spanish.Ìý It is my second language, and my level of Spanish is pretty decent, so I can actually help you more with nuances better than the average native speaker.

So, what is it you are wanting to learn?

The first thing you will need to remember as you learn, most Spanish language books are either biased towards American or British "Spanish" bias.Ìý As long as you remember that, you are always ready to change from "textbook" Spanish to the local dialect you are operating in.

Hi everybody, I've been learning Spanish for about a year and a half on my own using mainly the free language materials that can be found on the Web (but I also used a few books).Ìý

Today I might say that my level is pretty decent and that I'm quite confident in speaking the language: One of my boss is from Barcelona ;)Ìý

There is really a HUGE collection of free resources that can be found on Internet and the language is relatively easy to tackle if you already have French & English under your belt.

Here are a few Web sites with some free language materials that have been quite useful to me:

1) notesinspanish.com/
Contains a huge collection of free podcasts from beginner to advanced level

2) radiolingua.com/shows/spanish/
Free collection of podcasts from beginner to advanced level

3) blogs.transparent.com/spanish/
Free material, mainly concerning grammar & vocab both in written form and in video format

4) conversationexchange.com/
Free network to find a language exchange to chat/talk to.

If you want an exhaustive list of materials that I've found please contact me through a PM.

Hasta luego,
