to pick up on the point that the majority if people being hospitalised have been vaccinated is true - and of course if you did the maths and thought about it logically, it makes perfect sense - if you vaccinate almost 100% of your adult population, as the uk has, then effectively those that get ill despite the vaccination campaign, are still going to be the most vulnerable - ie the elderly, those with pre-conditions, etc. in other words when all things are equal, then these same groups are the ones most likely to end up with a serious illness. crucially though - and again a vital fact you neglected to mention, is that hospitalisations and serious illness in the uk and deaths - are a fraction of what they were as a % of new cases, from a year ago.

Yes but the point still stands. Can you actually prove if it was the vaccine or autoimmunity of the body which is preventing this. I am sure you are wise enough to make a sensible difference. I rest my case.

As from 1st October, picnics will again be allowed on the beaches (group of maximum 30 people)

Cinemas / theaters will be accessible at 50% of their capacity. The staff will have to be vaccinated.

For bars / casinos / Gaming House, access will be reserved for vaccinated adults only.

Just a quick update about borders opening in Rodrigues ... They supposed to open as well in October but they delayed it till at least the beginning of November ... There are no flight to rodrigues till 6 of November as I received from air Mauritius.. hopefully I will be able to get to Mauritius and Rodrigues in november, I heard there will be a meeting about opening in Rodrigues coming week, but that is what I heard via via. I find it kind of hard to find info about this on any website, but if I hear something I will let it know. If anyone has a better source of info about borders opening in Rodrigues please let me know

Thank you for update.  We as a adults will be fully vaccinated - what do we do about our 16 year old daughter?  SA is not vaccinating under 18's before next year so does she have to isolate?

Hello Genevieve,

Children under 18 are exempted from vaccination. She doesn't need to self-isolate if her PCR is negative

Will children need to do COVID testing?

Regardless of the airline, travellers including children and infants must undergo a PCR test 72 hours prior to their departure for Mauritius. An oropharyngeal swab can be collected for children up to 6 years of age. A negative PCR test result is required to be allowed to travel.
Do children need to be vaccinated?

Children under 18 years old are exempted from vaccination. Children over 5 years old must wear masks in the mandatory areas.

just an update from air mauritius on the 14th of october regarding flight to rodrigues: 'Until 31 October 2021, no commercial passenger flights will operate to Rodrigues, with the exception of authorized flights.

Due to uncertainties, we do not accept new bookings to Rodrigues for the month of November as well.'

I really hope the border of rodrigues will be opening on the 1ste and i will be able to book a ticket from mauritius to rodrigues (or any other country to rodrigues) ... for now still not possible. If i have some news a will share it. If someone else has some information on rodrigues or ideas how to get there after the 1ste of november, please let me know.

Good evening

Please could you help me with some doubte. I live in Spain and i was affected by Covid on November 2020. I was vaccinated with one dose of vaccine Moderna on February 2021 following the Department Health-Generalitat de Catalunya indications. I cannot get the second dose because un Spain the people who have had Covid can get only one dose of vaccine in order to be fully vaccinated.
I have all medical documentation (the PCR results, blood test, official EU Digital Covid Certificate with 1dose/1).
Will I be able to travel to Mauritius without quarenteen?

Thank you!!!

Anou86

Hello Luliia86,

Yes you will be allowed to visit without quaratine (provided you meet the other requirements)

What does fully vaccinated mean?

Travellers must be fully vaccinated to enter the country without quarantine. They must meet one of the following conditions:

  - be fully vaccinated with two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine recognized by the Mauritian authorities. The second dose, if applicable, must have been administered at least 2 weeks before arrival;

- have an official documentation proving that you have already had COVID-19 and have had a post-infection vaccination 14 days prior to travel (28 days for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine);

   -  have received a single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine at least 28 days before travel;

- be a minor aged under 18 years old who is currently exempted from vaccination and travels with his/her family.
