Travelling for first time to Nigeria

Josian1967

Hi, I'm Josian SOPHIE from Mauritius. I m travelling for the very first time to Nigeria this June. I wish to know if it is safe to visit everywhere alone or should I take a tour specialist to be safe.

Which city do you want to visit? I lived in Abuja and flew to Lagos. Safely bought tickets on kissandfly.ng. About Lagos, it's not dangerous if you understand the situation and take a few precautions. I talked to both Lagosians who've lived in Lagos, and the consensus among both groups was that the amount of crime in Lagos has gone down significantly in the past few decades, particularly violent crime. The worst that might happen to you if you do venture out alone or get off the beaten path is getting mugged – it's virtually unheard of for foreigners to get killed, kidnapped, etc. People tend to contrast this with a similarly-sized African city like Johannesburg, where violent crime is still very much a reality.
But you can take a tour specialist to be safe 100%

Nigeria is a nice place to be. There is really no xenophobic or racial prejudice unlike some countries.

Everywhere in Nigeria is relatively safe except some parts of the northern region of Nigeria which is dominated by the Boko Haram insurgents...
