Adopting a pet in Tunisia

³¢´Çﳦ

Hello,

Are you a dog or a cat person? A pet can add life to a home and make an ideal travel companion during your expatriation in Tunisia.

However, formalities or regulations might put you off traveling with your pet making adoption a better option.

Are there any particular rules or procedures for the adoption of an animal in Tunisia?

What are the costs associated with adopting a pet in Tunisia?

Are there different procedures depending on the animal?

Are pet-sitting options available?

Have you ever adopted a pet in Tunisia? Is he or she still with you today?

Thank you in advance for your feedback,

Hi,
My father in law is originally from Djerba and moved back a few years ago so we visit him quite frequently. He has a few dogs and somehow many of the strays gravitate toward him. As far as we know there are no specific regulations on dog or cat adoptions/ownership in this country. Other than the dogs should be contained within a property if aggressive... If you plan on traveling with the animals I believe the regulations are specific to the country you are visiting.
If you are looking to adopt a dog a small female wandered onto our property last week (less than two months old) that needs a good home and loving owner. Let me know if you are interested.

Hope this helped!
