Lost Mobile In a Taxi

jojolam

yesterday I had lost my mobile phone in a Yellow taxi me no get receipt also don't know taxi number or anything except Taxi color. but before go report police station local Chinese had advised about Chinese police and its system that they never help anyone , and one of friend say if go with a journalist having video camera the police will show more active and try do something to convince the media and superiors, in fact today happened as Chinese friends opinion , police say lost phone not their responsibility , and also me had ask whether we identify the mobile user location is it possible to track thief, also police reply its difficult and not part of their duty ? so I would like to ask dear expatriate as well as Chinese friends in fact what is the security responsibility of this local police? I had installed mobile find software in my lost Samsung phone, so if me identify the thief's  location also police say cannot catch! then how to catch a thief to recover lost things? foreigners go to thief and fight?

You lost your phone inside a taxi as you said, whoever take it is not a thief. he or she didnot still it from you.
remember is your carelesness that caurse it, and is not the duty of police to be looking for lost phone, no police in this world we help you look for such things, how many phones and items carelessly lost inside taxi per day, if polce are involving in that means they will not have anything doing again,
learn your lesson and buy another phone.

Kris N

I agree.
The police are not responsible for lost items anywhere in the world. Except in the case of a lost passport or other ID documents where as it is just a good idea to file a "loss report" to police just in case your ID is found and reported or used illiegally.
In fact many taxis have either a sign or a recording when the meter is stopped reminding passengers to take all their belongings. In any case the taxi driver or company is NOT responsible for lost items.
Buy another phone and be more responsible.

IN India have cyber Police, even lost mobile turned off also with sim card the police trace the phone within 6 hours.

Cool! But India is the second largest software Country, not China.

All you can do is being careful next time or cursing the one took your mobile.

That's incredible... I've never heard of a police agency that would put so much emphasis on a lost article...let alone an everyday article such as a mobile phone.
In that case...China should have an umbrella police division for all the lost umbrellas. Everyday people in Shenzhen carry an umbrella just as much as their mobile phones.here they carry umbrellas for health reasons... like staying as white as possible on sunny days or not getting wet on rainy days lol!

Welcome to China Jojolam!!!!

You see Jojolam, there is no country in the world that the police can help you look for lost items inside a taxi or transport, but if someone burggle your house and cast aways some of your property, or attack you on the road and collect your phone, then is the responsibilty of the police to help you out,
China have the best security system in the world take it or not,
thats why you see one of the biggerst and most populous country in the world become most peaceful nation in the world, I have been into India the security there are porous.
just go and buy another one and forget about it. SORRY

dear security in India not Poorest , may be you had visited to India but you still don't know what is India like many others , and you say china is biggest secured place in the world? you still in a dream , the security here mean only camera monitoring on the cities only and the story in rural areas is incredible , when u get a real problem that time only you will understand about peaceful and security. nobody can't convince you by words you have to feel. thousands of the people cheated here by fraud companies mostly online also from Shenzhen buy memory card including Chinese people may of them reported police in Shenzhen but also they  no do nothing and mostly Chinese no approaching police even if have a solid evidence also because they knew it well.

jojolam

In India If you approach police  for the lost items from railway station there is Railway police lost and found department also in Airport, if some other place  if you lost anything you can approach local police and make a complaint also police will give you a receipt against your complaints, if you lost a mobile phone and the mobile phone still have the Sim card the cyber police will help you get back your mobile phone its guarantee, may any other part of the world may no have but in India have this system. and In India people have wright to ask anything even to police and government because its largest democratic country in the world.

jojolam

India is a largest democratic country ever this world , people have wright to ask also protest. Try to learn more about India in a real way except  European media. they  never write true about India.

I agree... never trust the media no matter where it comes from. However Jojolam... you are in China and the reality is... your phone is lost for good.
In other countries there is a "lost and found" office in most public areas such as train stations and airports, schools and what have not as well. We can also report lost articles such as wallets or other items of value to airport/ train and taxi security or police.
When it comes to cell phones... only an idiot would leave the SIM card in a found or stolen phone. Hence the chances of finding a lost phone is minimal even if the police bother to help locate it and that is why most local police departments won't bother.
No offence was intended towards you or India. I'm actually happy to learn that India is much better than the media makes it out to be. Just as I learned about China when I visited for the first time.

You cant insist the china government  on creating a rule if they don,t have one. May be they don,t give priority to such things in their enforcement and law procedures.I you would have got the mobile back if this would have happened in India only in a condition that you had provided the police with  mobile registration number and receipt.May be the government here is well aware that china fakes sometimes when it comes to technology and they are earning millions from that so why to stop money from coming in. Most of the top brands get assembled here so they know it very well how to play with tracking. Have a drink forget the phone. I know it must have been hard earned money and on top of that a new phone.

jojolam

the matter the mobile I forgot on that taxi and its 100% taken by that driver , because after getting down soon I gave many calls also many of my friends and colleagues but he never attend phone also switched off. unfortunately I don't know that taxi number nor taken then receipt ah.

(In my past experience) GZ cabs have a steel grill between the driver and passenger. Hence the driver would have to notice the abandoned phone, pulled safely over, exited the vehicle and then re-entered via the rear door to retrieve the adandoned phone. This is highly unlikely. You're in GZ. The cab you left your phone in was most likely occupied the minute you stepped out of it and was probably taken by the next fare.
Assuming the driver took it is an unfair assumption and accusation.
Stop convincing yourself it was stolen... it wasn't...you lost it and deal with it.

Cheers!

what me going to say and explained the people understand also get satisfied reply, and also 15 years ago GZ was well know for robbery in public , and me come China invited by Chinese government settled a Factory  and more than 211 Chinese working also more than 324 Indian sole owned factory functioning  only in Guangdong province ( Trading company not included ) and in 2012 the total export to India is 105 Billion USD . by bank transfer, ( hawala and people direct come buy not included)that is the reason Chinese prime minister selected India as his first official trip. if you are a Indian its real curse and shame for India. because a real Indian can't post this.

jojolam

by name understand you are a Real Indian but your father may not be a Indian that you confirm first, because the words come not seems as Indian origin. Indian are brave they don't manipulate, You don't have gads to say as a Chinese because you know thieves of china well. so You say this big mouth as a Indian. this conceal is your hereditary

Kayode

Jojolam, I think you should forget this phone issue, again we are talking about security not the system of govt, if I may enlight you about some security matters, you may understand a little because I can see you dont have any knowledge about law and security, am a lawyer by profession and I have traveled to more than 20 countries in this world, they are 3 types of crime, world crime, national crime, and personal crime, all this added together and eveluate the security of a country by national security council, China have the lowest % of all this in the world, man and woman can move freely within china without any fear, but not in India or USA that i came from,
no police can accuse anybody of taking phone or lost items on the road or transport anywhere in the world my dear, even if you can prove it thats is your own, the worst you can do is to appeal to the person to give you, because you have lost it is no longer you property and the taker may even have more evidence to prove it more than what you think, you may even be charge for accusion and assult,(covert tem toll) thats the language in law, if only you can understand it.

Jing hao

By Your Way of talking can understand how you were brought Up..May God Bless You, Hurray you lost your Mobile, lol :p

Somethings are Done for Good :p

mhien

2010 experienced in GZ for losing my phone, after paying my fare and get off from the car thought my phone is in my pocket so i directly went to KFC after maybe 15 minutes i was about to call my friend but i can't find my cellphone. it's cheap but my sim card and memory card have many important notes there.I went to my other friend house then borrowed her laptop to open qq,finally the driver sent message to my qq.after 1 hour i met this driver and got my cell phone...(before getting off from cars, check all your belongings first before paying)
reporting lost cell phone in cars is not bad, this is to discipline some drivers and to teach how to respect people.....

Prateekdubey

WTF ... people fighting over a social platform .Its sheer disrespect for the nation where you come from and for the nation who ever invited you to be here. India is well known for what goes in India and being an Indian i would request all the shit heads here not to involve your nationality. Behave like educated people for god sake. I have found police much helpful here and i don't think they would ever say no to anything like that if its not beyond there control. I even got my work visa penalty waived off one time being in china requesting the officer and he did it. Now we are good friends and we never talk of our nationalities. Stop blaming anyone for this incident , it was your fault and you lost it. Please try meet the dedicated police officer for expats in your area and see if he can help you. If he says no then be alert next time.

Oh...Things go not very well now...

First, this is º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.Here are people from all over the world. We shouldn't emphasize on nation strongly. So I always define myself as a human being here as all others, not a Chinese.

Second, say something as a Chinese. We Chinese always think Harmony is precious.Conflicts are not good.:D

Its Big mess between 2 Indians who don,t even understand that they are exploiting the Nations dignity on a global platform.Guys if you want to fight share your personal emails with each other and do what you have to. I think the  Indian community in china is well educated and cultured to understand the basic ethics and responsibilities of being on community web service.I think its time to report abuse on this comment thread.

Jing hao

Oh Yes I Had Reported his Comment Just Now, Thank You .I Did not Noticed Report Option Earlier.
