Any restaurant supply companies in Dalian?

I'm looking for commercial-grade equipment, not home appliances and cutlery sets.

Out here in Hangzhou, I've found a great place called HEC, which is essentially just an enormous warehouse filled with everything you need to open a kitchen.

I'm willing to make the trip to the Qingdao or Yantai area if necessary, but I really don't want to have to go all the way to Beijing for this stuff.

Anybody know something about this?

[edit] By the way, I am in Hangzhou now but planning to come out to Dalian by next year. Sorry if my post didn't make much sense at first glance!

There's an area near DaCaiShi that has kitchen equipment. It's a massive conglomeration of stalls and small stores. The area actually starts near the outdoor wholesale fruit/veggie section behind/within the mall and runs to Mom & Pop-size stores on the next street over.

Also, the old B&Q near Metro is now "Kitchen City".

PM me and I'll try to point out a Google map reference or can show you the area when you're in town.

Got any specifics on what equipment you need?

Sounds like a perfect place to at least begin my quest, James! Many thanks for the info.

Since you asked, I'm looking for kitchen equipment that is on par with what hotels and restaurants use, not the flimsy stuff we see in most people's homes.

No emergency... I'm just curious since I'm a life-long professional chef, and one of the first things I always look for in a new town is the local equipment market.

However, I'm also keen to get a few pints at the local pub when I'm in Dalian, so let's stay in touch, and see if we can't do that some time.
