Moving from Suzhou to Shanghai soon

Hi folks,

I have given the last year working and living in Suzhou. I will return to China in mid August to take up a new teaching role in Shanghai.

I would be grateful to any one that can give me an insight into life in Shanghai, like cost of living, where to meet like minded expats and make friends, where to dine, where to hang out, what to do, etc.

While I have visited Shanghai once or twice, I am not all that familiar with the city, so any advice or insight into city life in Shanghai would be hugely appreciated.

Can you provide further insight into living in Shanghai please. I am not seeking a Skype buddy.... I am seeking good friendly advice on where to go, what to do, where to eat, where to meet other expats etc.
