I have just moved here and looking for somewhere to live, not too far/much traffic to get to and from work near kota BNI, what's Taman Rasuna like? I am looking for somewhere suited to 海角乱伦 since my Bahasa is less than limited.

Hi, welcome to Jakarta

As you'll see from other threads living close to work is important so best to look on a map.

Most expats get by in English for a while while learning Bahasa Indonesia, so I wouldn't worry if you live central Jakarta then you will be OK without local language (there are a few to choose from and it appears that most speak Bahasa Indonesia with some Bahasa Batawi thrown in)

I have friends living in Thamrin residence, which will be closer, so maybe worth checking that out as well. Have a look around at a few places before you commit to a 6 month or a year contract

Hi All. I am Citra. Not new to jakarta, but recently move to Taman Rasuna. Tower 15 to precise To bad I just read this thread now...

Anyway, since it is long weekend, if anyone happen to be in town, should we have a spontaneous gathering on Tuesday, October 15, 2013? Either brunch or dinner would be nice. What do you think? Hope to hear from you, neighbors!

It looks a spontaneous meeting isn't coming. What about organizing one, at a date that allows 'organization'? Or did members living in Rasuna moved elsewhere?
