I am an expat living in Malaysia for over 6 years. From UK, my wife is from Indonesia.

jaapk2002

Lived in Ipoh from 1996-2005. When I came back in 2017 I thought it was the last time. Yes, my wife is from Perak, but it did not grab me as much as it used to.

Last month I joined my wife. KL was okay. Hectic as always. Ipoh was unrecognisable. Hotels, restaurants, condo's, you name it. Met with my "old" friends and we all got older and more grey.

I was reminded again why I loved Ipoh so much.

So, in a couple of years when I retire it most probably wont be Spain as we planned, but Ipoh.

Regards,

Jan.

Ipoh has a duff side, that being the rampant prostitution and all the criminality that goes with it.

However, once you know where not to go (especially at night) it's a good place to consider for retirement.

Once you get out of the city, you can find a lot of nice places.

Hi Fred,

I am originally from Holland lived in Thailand as well. Prostitution does not shock me.

Criminality is on the decline, but of course present as it is in any major city.

The time of bar hopping I left behind me a couple of years ago. :)

Regards,

Jan.

Good day. I am an expat from Brunei for 5years. During my tenure, I have been living in Kuala Lumpur and also Selangor area; Subang and Puchong. During my tenure in Malaysia, I have made a few local friends and helped me to get around, partake in family-oriented activities and participated in events; which led me to engage myself in small businesses. In short, my time is quite filled with positive things in Malaysia. If anyone needs help or leads for anything at all; cultural activities, business activities, leisure activities do let me know! I am happy to share my experience with hope that it would be beneficial for you and your family. -Dayang-

Hello,

I was reading this forum from time, but I decided to joined to know how to get a job in Malaysia and be relocated there, I know it's a long process but i'm not in a hurry.

I am seeking job opportunities that offer a work visa, and later stay for retirement, I already applied in some webpages for jobs, also introduced my CV in this web in jobs section.

The relocation is motivated by Malaysia's attractive, peaceful, and culturally environment, i spent last holydays in Kuala and was a rich experience.

So if you hear or know someone looking for a foreigner with TI experience, please contact me.
