Visiting United States

Raj saraiya

Hello people,

I have some doubt so thought of posting it out here, actually, I am from India currently working  Kuala Lumpur holding an employment pass. I want to visit at my brother's place he is residing in United States in texas to be precise. I am not getting how should I apply for a visa and get the documentation done. If somebody can help me it would be highly appreciated. Thank you.  Looking forward to your replies guys. I haven't met my brother for 8 years.

apply for US visa at the US embassy in KL

You have to apply for a visa at the US embassy but in the environment of the virus I would not be trying right now. Also there is a travel ban in malaysia starting today. Also, there no flights from asia to US. Correction, I checked on skyscanner.com and they show one flight from malaysia to Japan, then to US, and also a flight from Malaysia to Qatar and then to US and the prices for these flights are high. But again, I dont think you can book these flights in light of the travel ban right now.

Otherwise, the visa application fee is RM1600 and its not refundable if you are turned down.

Maybe the Indian embassy can give you additional information. Please call them.

Also, news from Greece says that the second wave of the virus is coming and this will cause more and extended lockdowns which Malaysia has now too.

Also, Bird Flu has been detected in Philippines and that comes from China too. Last time we had that, there were no chickens to eat for quite some time.

In light of this it would be foolish to attempt a visa application at this time. Im an american who greatly needs to get home to help my family and I wont even attempt a trip. I dont want the virus and you shouldnt either. Just forget it for now!
