Hi All

I am now 2 months on the Maldives, but I find it pretty boring and isolated. I am on a small island and there is nothing to do after work, I was twice in Male and Hulumale and there is no even a place to have a drink or sit in a Caf茅 etc. Alcohol is forbidden and even a beer or glass of wine is not available. There are couple of times praying events which I started already to join.
I could not meet any people, just the Persons from the job.

How you are handling this.
It would be helpful if someone could give me an advise.

I hope to hear from someone.

The Airport Hotel has beer and alcohol available. Male' has expanded its restaurant selection immensely along with Hulhumale. My suggestion is to slow down..soon the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel will be opening with other great restaurants etc on a new island 10 mins speedboat from Male.
I felt the same as you my first months..now 6 1/2 years later I am perfectly fine.
