Extended Stay in Laek Sak

GuestPoster010102

Aloha.

I'm considering Laek Sak for an extended stay, perhaps 3 – 6 months, maybe longer. And if not Laek Sak specifically, then somewhere in Ao Luek, fairly close by. I’m looking for an affordable place ($400 – 500 US/mo), perhaps even a small Thai house built out over the water. I’m certainly open to suggestion. WiFi is a must and AC would definitely be preferable. Does anyone have connections in that area?

Also, having come from a maritime family on the Chesapeake Bay in the US, the allure of living in a small Thai fishing village on Phang Nga Bay is hard to resist. So I’m also considering renting or buying a small runabout, RIB or longtail boat, purely for recreational purposes, presuming I can obtain the proper licenses... if anyone has gone through that process.

If you wouldn't mind sharing your insights, I’d be very appreciative. ðŸ™

Buying outright is not an option, legislation prevents foreign ownership. And then for 3 to 6 months buying should never be an option...

Start googling for locations, agents galore

@martinoo2002 ??

I said nothing about buying. I said "extended stay"... And again, I'm looking for locals and/or expats who have personal insight and connections.... Thanks tho
