Changing Thai Employer

Stoz3095

Change of job means my current non-imm B will be cancelled by my current employer and apparently my new employer has 7 days to get my new visa arranged. I wonder, what will be the consequences if they don't manage it within the 7 days?

Seems like your new employer would know.

I'm not sure, but you may have to do a visa run and return on a fresh visa that can be converted to non-imm o by your new employer, which could then be used to get a new work permit.

What have they told you?

My old (still current) employer is completely hacked off as he is losing business by me moving on, so he's just cutting ties and has told me he will cancel my visa on my last day at work. Whereupon my new employer will have 7 days grace to reignite things, so to speak. He has warned about overstaying if the visa isn't issued in good time! Which may affect all future employment. Scaremongering???

I'm hoping my new employer has some positive news for me tomorrow 6th May (following the long weekend); however they are so laid back, they're probably going to need all the rest of the week to even begin getting the ball rolling 🙄

Just an update... I will need to leave the country to set up a new non-imm B visa and the 7 day grace peeiod apparently does not apply
