Tourist visa's are only issued by Thai embassy in foreign country.  If you arrive in Thailand and hold passport from one of 55 eligible countries you will get visa exempt entry good for 30 day stay.  If visa exempt make sure you have outbound ticket and funds if asked to see by immigration.

Yes. because i have just extended another 30 days at immigration in thailand and i would like to travel out of thailand to the nearest country like malaysia and return back to thailand. i just wonder how many days would i have to be out of thailand before i can get back. Etc 1day or 2 days. Thanks

I'm confused, do you have a tourist visa or an exempt of entry (a.k.a. VISA Waiver Stamp)?
Why don't you get a proper tourist visa at Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur? Your life  will be much easier with immigration. Also have sure you are carrying at least 20.000 Thai Baht (some says 10.000, but better sure than sorry) in cash with you or ATM Card to withdrawn this amount if you have to.
2 Exempt of entry are allowed per calendar year, but I know cases that someone recently did it for four months in a row and no questions asked, he used the Cambodia/Thai border of Pailin/Pong Nam Ron.
If you want more details about this, you should contact some agency in BKK, they deal with this sort of thing on a daily basis and they know better than me, also there is no cost to ask an agent, it all depends on your nationality, if they see it is not possible they will let you know.
My sincere opinion, get a proper Visa.

It was most kind of you [costaf] & [Straydog} to reply with such detail. Indeed, your confusion [costaf} is most understandable.
However, since the OP is already a (claimed) citizen of an ASEAN member nation (i.e.- Singapore), then I'm hard-pressed to comprehend the ("i dont have a tourist visa as i'm from singapore and i dont think i need one.") reason of why ,...he has posted such a query,...to begin with,..eh?

costaf

Ok. You never mentioned in your post that you were Singaporean. Now it's all explained. Why are you concerned about it? As @jana611 stated you are citizen of ASEAN.

Xavier.lim

Costaf, i'm concern because i would like to leave thailand for 1-2 days to malaysia and come back again. Just to know that i can i just leave for 1 day and come back? because i'm afraid that they might not let me enter

costaf

@Xavier.lim, If I'm not wrong, Singaporeans when entering Thailand by land, they will get only for 15 days and not 30 days.
As far as I know, tourist visa do not apply for Singaporeans in their first entry (first 30 days) in the country, if you are planning to stay longer, I think you will need a proper visa (you can get 3 months in a tourist visa, if business visa it is up to 1 year).
Your best bet is to ask directly to the immigration officer, they will answer your question gladly without any problem. I myself did that many times regards my stay in Thailand.
