Is there anyone lives in Qui Nhon now?

Hailyphan

I attempted to search for the expat community in Qui Nhon but the result so far is not really like what I've expected.

Seems like there ain't many ppl are actually interested in spending time in this town.

Im going to stay in here for a few weeks and if anyone's is down for some drinks, creating a group of at least 2 people lol or just hanging out, don't hesitate to hit me a text message through this platform **

I'm sorry for this thread created in here, but this category obviously doesn't include Qui Nhon.
Cheers

Try Quy Nhon.  Not surprised, my wife was there a couple of months ago and it was 42C. I'm glad I didn't go after all.

A bit sad. Except the fact that being drunk and being on my own, generally speaking, its quite a nice town compare to the other coastal provinces lolllll

Well thanks for the opinion because it's on my list to evaluate for biz opportunities in the coming year.  From what I have read it is quite a bit behind in tourism development compared to higher profile costal enclaves like Nha Trang and Danang etc. but what pics i have seen show a decent beach and I suspect affordable rental rates since there are no foreigners there.  Do you mind sharing any additional opinions or experience for us before you leave and forget it?  Thx in advance and Happy Trails.

There is a huge University there, hotel accommodation gets very expensive towards the end of summer each year, when hundreds, if not thousands of students , ( and Mum ), come from many provinces to sit University entrance examinations.
BTW , the train doesn't run through Quy Nhon, it's stops a few kms away, probably why many tourists don't go there.

Thanks again, you are observant, that's a great talent in short supply in this day and age.  What little I have found on-line seems to paint a picture of very few restaurants / bars devoted to serving tourism and catering to tourists' unique desires and expectations.   Do you have an opinion on that?   And if you don't mind sharing, where are you going after you leave there?   Maybe I get to buy you a six-pack someday for the info help.

No , I've never been there, ( one day, but definitely not during summer, over 40C is a little warm for me these days ), the OP Hailyphan is there at the moment, but when I get the chance, I'll speak to my wife about it, ( she stayed there a couple of months ago for about 4 days, her daughter was sitting Uni exams ), that way you can get you a VN's perspective of the place, ( but she wasn't happy about how expensive the hotel was ).

Thanks for the concerns, yep there aren't not so many places that are listed on the tripadviser, but in reality its more than that. The thing is that its pretty far from the city so as far as im concerned, the motorcycle is mandatory for you so as to get to Hon Kho, ki co island( newly discoverd from what i heard rumours said), some cham towers ( located each in and outside of the city), one pack backers hostel in the city, the other beside the beach hostel is located pretty far from the city but its nice.( more information please search life a beach)i think, but so far, having vietnamese privilege, no friends in here. Sucks
I got here in the middle of the city by  a  almost 10 hour train, namely SE26, probably around 30 usd from Saigon.
Hope you find this interesting and pay a visit somehow sometimes. :)

T-Troll

I visit it from time to time, my GF family is from there.
So i can drop you a message next time i go to Quy Nhon.

PS: I like the city, in fact - not so much tourists, and a lot of nice places nearby, can drop you some hints, if you want.

Hailyphan,

If you are down for a cup of coffee or a few beers, send me your contact number.  I will be going through Quy Nhon shortly, stopping to hang out with a dear friend, who had gone there to start a furniture manufacturing company.  Maybe I can hook you up...

Hailyphan

Cool. **. Hit me a text when you get here.
