Things really get crazy on the streets late at night

JenneSaisQuoi

Saigon is a crazy and dangerous late at night. In one single week I have witnessed 2 major accidents on the same stretch of road. This is on Kinh Te bridge between district 4 and 7. No wonder they have a sign that reads 'Accidents are common here. Be aware!!' Anyways, one night while riding home at night I witnessed a container truck careening out of control, crashed and ran over the little dividers and came to a stop just a few yards in front of me. Two little dudes hopped out of the truck and seemed unfazed by the accidents. Good thing that the neighborhood watch dudes who happened to be standing nearby and arrested these guys. Fast forward a couple of nights ago, on the same side of the bridge, while I was limping home on my scooter, I heard a crash and followed by a sight of a motorbike flying and crashing into the dividers. Looked over to the other side and saw two dudes lying motionless on the side of the road next to the side walk. Everyone on the road stopped and stunned. To make things worse, a line of container trucks and cars were speeding down the same bridge. I hope they didn't run over these guys. So there you have it. Avoid riding at night at all costs. The roads in Saigon at night can be dangerous. Where were the police? Who knows.

Not really, late at night the lowlife trawl the streets looking for easy prey, head out to Thu Duc and D9 late at night and you will soon see why police should be patrolling.

THE District 9..!!!         :o

Not a chance!  (I saw the movie!)

..besides, the signs distinctly say: No Humans Allowed...
