Importing Medicines for disabled veteran

drdavidcamp

I have many questions and find the invites to introduce oneself lacking a "Click here to introduce" sort of thing.

One main question is that I am a US veteran who get most of my meds from the VA by mail.Does anyone know if there is a problem doing this in Belize?

Welcome to the forum.
The first entry on the forum page is: "New members of the Belize forum, introduce yourselves here-2019"  and I see that you introduced yourself there.
There are a lot of people on the forum who are willing to share advice and their experiences in Belize - just ask.
I can't help you with that specific question, but I can tell you that medications in Belize are generally very cheap and not inferior in quality. Receiving anything by mail in Belize will generally be slow and expensive secondary to import duties. FedEx is also an option but that won't circumvent the import duty aspect. I would not count on being able to do that, realistically. If you are coming as a visitor and bringing your medications with you it won't be a problem, but if you are planning on permanent resident or QRP, you may need to find another alternative. There may be someone else on here who has experience with that, but not sure.
Good luck in your ventures.

I have had no problem getting my 2 generic prescriptions to Belize. I order them (for pennies) from an online US pharmacy and have them forwarded to my PO box here by ordinary US Post.  Even with the extra shipping cost, I still save money over buying them here and don't have to hassle with a "30-day supply maximum" rule on one of them. I do make sure to allow plenty of time for them to arrive, has been as long as 6-8 weeks.
