looking for a winter home

Hi. my names Terrie, I'm a single mum with 3 boys. for the past few years i have been looking into getting some land and building a small home for my retirement. After dismissing Belize as too unsafe, i've been drawn to Panama. I would like to be off grid, have a huge Robinson Crusoe complex, and can pretty much turn my hand to most things. I'm hoping i can find some new friends and give my boys an opportunity to immerse themselves into a different culture. however money is a problem, so i've given myself 2 years to begin this part of my life.
