can a foreigner buy property in Albania?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Albania?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Hi Cristine! Buying a property in Albania is a straightforward process! Nothing like in UK ( 8-12 weeks from the offer)! As long as you and the seller agree on the price, the paperwork is signed by both parties at the notary ( solicitor)! It can take a day for the whole process to take place! If you need more info I would be glad to oblige! By the way I am an albanian living in UK!

Here's my (sad) story about buying an off-plan property in Albania:

My advice is that always buy a finished apartment which comes with the hipotek (document that proofs that you own the apartment). If you really want to buy an off-plan apartment, make sure you check the history of the developer very carefully and check their previous developments.
