Unlimited Work Permit 2024
As a Turkish citizen, I applied for an unlimited single permit on September 28, 2024. It was rejected because I could not provide a 24-month pay slip. As of this month, I have 22 pay slips. The decision states that I can reapply in January 2025. Will I have a problem if I reapply in January?
@mehmetfirattt41
Merhaba mehmet,
2 years rule is applicable if you have your dependent with you in Belgium.And yes as soon as you could proove 24 months of payslips-Individual rekeningen-Compte induvidial you can re apply.
However if you are single this rule rise up to 36 months.
Good luck
@ChandlerBing
For Turkish citizens there is an exception rule no matter in which region lived - worked in.
2 years working if you have dependants and 3 years if you are alone.
Hello everyone,
I am a non-EU citizen from a country with a labor agreement with Belgium who has worked in Belgium for the past 4.2 years under a Single permit type A card.
Came to my attention recently that once having 4 years of continuous work in Belgium, I can apply for an unlimited working permit that will allow me to change employers without requesting a new single permit again. Does anyone here have more information on this and what would be the procedure to apply if this is true?
Thanks
Yes thats true.
The procedure is quite simple. You will just apply for an unlimited single permit.
Once your application accepted by Economic Migration Service your application will be forwarded to IBZ.
Then either positive or negative result will be given after 3-4 months.
Necessary documents :
- Identity proof
- Pay slips (Individual rekeningen which contains 4 quarter of per year)
- Employment contract
- Card(s) and Permits
- Health insurance
Aplication link is : workinginbelgium.be
Good luck
Hello, the ambiguity comes from the IBZ. On what basis are they going to give you a residence permit and for what duration? Usually for normal single permits the employer starts the process and sends the application (new contract, etc.) and the IBZ issues a residence permit based on contract duration. But for unlimited single permits employee is the one who sends the applications and the contract is not a requirement in workinginbelgium.com Any idea?
Hello everyone,
I would like some clarity on the above topic if someone may kindly provide it. I live in Flanders and I would like to apply for the unlimited work permit because I have exactly 30months working for Brussels employers. I obtained all my single work permit authorisations with Brussels Economy and Employment since I was to work in Brussels. My question is, will my place of residence (Flanders) affect my application? I do not live in the Brussels-Capital region.
@ievgenfeldmann
Hi. Thanks for your reply. But on what basis do they decide to grant 1-year residency or reject it? Because you may not have a contract/work (not a requirement) at the moment of applying for an unlimited single permit.
@Mehrdad_AS
you think somebody knows..anyway all people apply after for L card, nobody stays with unlimited single permit
@Mehrdad_AS
Because you are no longer strictly connected with your employer (the identity card does not contain information about your employer), who is probably not obliged to report if you are no longer employed by him. In that case, immigration wants you to "prove" that you work every year, ie. that you have a job. Because you still have an unlimited right to work, but not an unlimited right to stay. If they would grant you an ID card for a longer period (3 years for example), then they wouldn't even know if you've been staying there for years without any work.
@residencecuriousity
Unlimited WP is made me more problems then ever due to the late renewal I regret it!
@ievgenfeldmann
I don't know what kind of problem you might have, since the extension is just a "formality". Of course, it is necessary to submit the request on time.
You look at this topic from the perspective that you didn't have any problems at work, that is, you didn't lose your job. If there were problems then, it would be much easier for you to change jobs, because your employer would not have to wait for a work permit. Do not forget that there are certain conditions for obtaining a work permit because it is not just a formality in itself. Some companies cannot guarantee the required salary, etc.
@residencecuriousity
I mean in Brx i applied for renewal 2 month before still was delayed...I received card L faster then unlimited shit renewal...
I applied for Unlimited single permit in brussels.
What is the usual time line.
My status is shown (In treatment by region) from last 3 weeks.
Thanks
@LegendaryV
Did you receive any updates for your permit? I think the holidays' season affected processing times for sure. I live and Flanders and submitted my files in late November and the application has not changed status since then. Good Luck.
Probably it is holidays season... I submitted in October, got approved in 5 days but then waited until December for residence approval...
@maharaji1984
I have a small clarification here. I have a health insurance provided by my current employer , so when I go for the unlimited permit and unlink from my employer, I wont have that will I ? Should I get something by myself before? And should I inform my employer about this ? Im working for a Belgium company via him.
@bluespark123
u have no clue what is health insurance meams? Employer can provide only extra health plan, insurance is mutualite...
@bluespark123
Mutuel is usually linked to you. As for extra insurance, it depends. For example, work-provided DKV allowed to retain profile after resigning if you have been with them about 3 (? do not remember) years. You need to look into your insurance rules for that
@Jalaniz
I received the work permit approval on 6th Jan but I am still waiting for residence permit approval.
Hello,
I have a question regarding the unlimited work permit. According to the new rule, if I have worked in Brussels for 2.5 years, I am eligible to apply for an unlimited work permit. I would like to clarify a few points:
What type of card is this? Is it Type A or Type B?
What is the duration of this card?
If I obtain this card, can I apply directly for Belgian nationality, assuming I have been living in Belgium for 5 years?
I am particularly interested in understanding whether this card could provide any advantage in my application for nationality. As I need 6 years for permanent residency (since I completed 2 years of studies and they are counted half), I am wondering if, once I reach 2.5 years of work experience, I will have completed exactly 5 years of residence in Belgium. Could I then apply for nationality with the unlimited work permit, or would I need to wait another year for permanent residency?
Thank you for your help!
@Theking123
Its uselles A card for 1 year renewal takes forever, if you have A card for 3 years and stable job better not switch ...
@Theking123
u send email with payslips etc, technically it is sound easy thats why commune always late on it, i received L card faster then Unlimited permit renewal. They always delays it
@ievgenfeldmann
I don't think it is useless.
With the recent change in Brussels where you can get unlimited single permit after 30 months. I think this is better option
And why you are saying it is not useless? is it easy to renew it or do you need to be working for a full year in order to renew it?
