You're apparently a Kiwi, is that correct? Where will you live when you're not living in Bulgaria? My understanding is that you'll be taxed in NZ on any income generated there but in addition, in order NOT to be regarded as tax resident in NZ you have to have no permanent place of abode there and to be absent more than 325 days in any year. A further complication, I believe, is that NZ doesn't have a double-taxation agreement with Bulgaria.

I'd say that you need to get expert advice from a NZ tax accountant - and to choose your BG accountant very well. Never forget that you'll essentially have no comeback if any "professional" here lands you in hot water, in Bulgaria or abroad, due to you following their advice!
