Hi,

my name is Sora. I grew up in the US but have been living abroad for the last 30

years and now Sweden is home. I am moving to Limassol in a few weeks for work and will be joined by my husband and our dog.

I’m a keen sailor, and sail at every opportunity. I also like almost any outdoor activity but can definite take it easy at a nice cafe or bar.

Sora welcome.

Sailing weather here is almost year round. I belong to a dinghy club in Agios Georgous which is a long drive from Limassol. I expect there will be a sailing club in Limassol as there is a nice marina. There is plenty of outside activity with cycling and walking clubs. You will be spoilt for choice.

Thanks so much for your reply. We can’t wait!

HI. We are considering a move to Cyprus as soon as this summer. We are from the US but have been living in Marbella Spain for a few years. We are two adults and a cat (Huckleberry) and love water, golf and great food and wine. We want to live walking distance to the water and restaurants. Cyprus looks like our speed so we are visiting in June.

Thank you for all the great info on this forum, it has been helpful.

I hope you like Cyprus. There are lots of watersports here. The sea is warm in the summer.

And thousands of cats for Huckleberry to befriend)

I decided that Cyprus might be a nice place to really retire too. I put it to my wife and she said yes.

We have lived in France so are used to pointless bureaucracy!  We spent out honeymoon, a very long time ago, in Cyprus so why not give it a go were my thoughts.

We are intending, hopefully to come out for a couple weeks very very soon to get a flavour, If that goes well we plan a revisit more towards winter to do a comparison.

As they say nothing ventured nothing gained.

Do it, we  have and are over joyed

Good plan to visit at different times of year and different areas ...then if you decide to relocate then and only then rent first before buying if thats your intention when you are familiar with your chosen area as things do change

Bogart99

Yes the renting idea is sound. We did this in France pointless buying a property in an aarea you may end up not really liking. Plus it immerses one into the lifestyle and dare I say again the bureaucracy.

I'm originally from Newcastle in England, and my wife and I spent November - March last year (2024/25) alternating between Paphos and Ayia Napa.

We're keen swimmers and love the outdoors. We were both well impressed with Cyprus, and are returning again this winter to escape the depressing north European winter.

We love reading, walking, talking, enjoying good wine, good food, and good people. I love football, am an avid Newcastle United fan, through thick and thin. Not quite retired yet but heading that way slowly but surely. I speak 3 languages and my wife and I love culture, new experiences, spititually minded people, animals, nature, sun and beaches.

We're looking forward to returning to Cyprus and to further deepen our knowledge of this lovely island.

Huckleberry2025

It's official, we are relocating from Marbella, Spain to Paphos in two weeks!

We are two adults and a cat (Huckleberry). We visited a few weeks ago and fell in love. The food is so clean, healthy and fresh. The people are so kind and happy. The driving is so crazy. We can't wait to get to know the island.

Thank you for this format and the help you provided. See you soon.
