Water meter muddle

Neptune3

I live in a flat, and recently had a water leak. My plumber had to switch off the water to fix it.  It turned out that my water meter was not connected to my water tank, but to another water tank on the roof. So for 4 years, the water bills were my neighbours water use, and vice versa.

The water board have now switched the meters round. But here is the thing: the water board man says this is not the first incident, and he has met this on a few occasions.

So, the moral of the story is: if you live in a flat- check your water meter is yours, and not your neighbour's!

Yep good solid advice as often the tanks are not clearly marked and as such cannot always be identified by the owners committee or management company...regarding leaks and repairs required as well as bills
