In Cyprus but with no residency permit

Magnetic

Hi,

Please advise. My family and I are British and have been leaving in Cyprus for a while but haven't applied for a residency permit yet as I really wanted to make sure that Cyprus was where we want to settle. Is it too late for me to apply for the residency permit in the new yr 2021? Is it correct that we can still stay in Cyprus for up to 90 days from the 1st of January without any issues?

Thank you in advance.

It’s not too late ... apply for the meu1 now get your appointment ASAP even if the appointment is next year as long as you make the appointment before end of year should be ok. It also ensures that you as given rights under the WA

Not necessarily as you are probably even now living here illegally if you have been here more than 90 days at this point...  I suggest you regularise your status asap.

It’s by no means certain what will happen in 2021 regarding visiting visas for uk nationals after brexit especially with the current impasse and time running out

Do what you have to do to legalize your stay here asap

Much appreciated Toon.

Just one more question.....So the first thing I must do is pay a visit to the Immigration department and receive an appointment date...Do I need to call for an appointment to go to the immigration or just go and wait in the queue? Also, is it expected for all my 3 children to come along or can I just bring their passports with me?

i think things have changed a little bit since we did all this(for both meu1 and meu3)   - all family members had to go once over to make the appointment but i think due to covid one person can go and make it for the family armed with all the family members passports .. but the actual appointment must be attended by all family members...

i would just go to the dept and wait in the queue but go early i think they open around 745-8am

I asked this question and this was the reply  - - - " If the children are dependants, they don't need to go. They may allow one person up, with all the passports to make the appointment, but would be better if everyone is there "

thanks again!

Apparently one person can definitely make an appointment for all the family even without passports. Obviously you all must attend the actual appointment with valid passports

Apparently there is a guy employed at the British consulate called Robert +357 96 541639 who  can make application appointments on a persons behalf there is no charge for it as the consulate pay the admin fees

Just got this sent to me.....
I went a couple of weeks back - It was chaos - You need to get there early (I was there at 06:45am) as queues form. At around 07:45 they come down and hand out tickets to get to reception. But they started giving out tickets to those at back of queue !. After a bit of complaining they took my ticket and told me to go into building and wait at door. Eventually got in and I managed to get an appointment for myself and wife without her being there. I just shoved the passports over the counter and she grabbed both and booked appointment- Note - now we’ll into February for appointments as of 1st Dec when I visited

SO GOOD LUCK

Magnetic

Thanks for the heads up !
