Hi folks,

Has any of you managed to obtain a Security Check Clearance?

By the look of it, being an expatriate does not help at all for the vetting process...

Any advice on this topic please?

Hi,

Baseline (BPSS) is not difficult to obtain even if you are an expat; they might require a police check from your country of origin, but I know a lot of people who got it.
SC on the other hand, is rather difficult (read: almost impossible) to get if you're not a Brit. You need to have had BPSS for a while, but the rest of the process is really quite onerous and unless you're employed by a company that really, badly needs you, they're not likely to go through all the hoops to get you cleared.

Thanks for your input, this confirms what I was expecting.

Anyway, there are plenty of other opportunities which don't need the SC Clearance!
