Hello !

I'm Rozlen and to valid my degree I had to do an internship abroad and so I choose Manchester.
So it's an internship for 4 months and so I'm gonna answer at your question by my personal experience here. I have the chance to do my internship in MCA Languages a residential English school.

I am renting a room in MCA languages, my internship place. For this room I pay 560 pound / month all included.

> How much do you pay for your public transport tickets (bus, subway, train, tram)? Because i have the chance to have a good location, i never took the buses, subways,tram ... Indeed MCA languafes is located at only 10 minutes by walk to the city center. More over in Manchester everything is close/nearby between each other, Manchester isn't big an too tiny, indeed the city have the perfect size and we can do everything by walk.

But i had to take a uber taxis ( in the first days, because I didn't know a this time the directions ) to drive me to the coach station in Piccadilly ( the city center). This course costed me only 4 /5 Pound (from Mca languages to the coach station) .

In Manchester we have a huge range of choice to do our shopping ! So the prices differ from a shop to another, for example we have aldi which is perfect for people who are looking for cheap prices.
We have also coop, sainsburry ...

You can also take into consideration the cost of living is a lot cheaper in the North compared to living in the South.

I did think that, but thats only including Breakfast and Evening meals?

The Numbeo site is all very well but is not really a true figure of the cost of living. You can add any amount into the system and it is not verified.

Yes, but the figures it provides is an average of the entries over the last year, I believe.  Either a significant amount of people would have to provide consistent erroneous data, or a few would have to provide severely skewed prices to sway the average.

I do find it to be a good tool, but I agree it doesn't always provide a total picture.  Like any tool, knowing how to use it is key

Yes, but when you have a site like º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, I would rather get my information from its own members to get a wider picture. It does open up the thread to have a debate for people to ask questions. But that's just my feelings.
