Rome or Barcelona

t_dass

I have been given the opportunity to accept a role in either Rome or Barcelona. Both are beautiful cities. From people that have experienced both cities, what's your opinion and preference - people, cost of living, professional experience.

Any insight on taxes being a German citizen and working in Rome as an expat? Appreciate any info. Thanks.

Hello and welcome !

I think the best way to gather some info is to post directly on the 2 corresponding forums :

Do your research and go and spend a few days in each city

I like Rome very much because you can visit so many other stunningly beautiful cities in Italy. I used to work offshore down the coast from Barcelona, and not a huge fan of the city, but I love the countryside including skiing in the Pyrenees, particularly in Andorra and it isn't a massive distance to the Basque country where I lived for many years. So really it's up to you. Both should be great places to live. I did notice though on my last trip to Italy that in Milan there are so many Southern Asian immigrants approaching us that it kind of felt a bit unsafe.
