Settling in Beziers
@earld Unfortunately, the French authorities are wise to this 'cheat' - you have to prove you have lived in the state from which your licence is issued for at least 6 months in order for your exchange request to be validated.
Hi your post was very interesting to us as we are hoping to relocate to Beziers after living for 20 years in the Charente Maritime
Can you give us some insight as to what areas would be best for fulltime living.
as this will be our final move and we can't afford to make mistakes. Are there area you would suggest ?
we are visiting in February to see Beziers as we have not been there before.
I hope you can give us some insight
Have a great Christmas Ann & Les Ford
We look forward to meeting you in February. We bought a home in the "old" part of Beziers so we can walk to most places that we need to go. We do have a car for our "big" shopping and to explore. The train station is an additional bonus; you can get almost anywhere from the train station. Nicole Hammond from Renestance has been a big help to us in making us "legal" in France. There are hoops we had to jump through when moving from the United States but with her help we have been able to navigate them. Her email address if you want to contact her is***>. She can also help you when you are looking for a place to purchase.

@bresdon17 I just wrote a reply then got asked to login, and couldn't see it, so I'm not sure whether you received my reply or not! Can you let me know? If not, I'll write it all out again...

OK, so what I said was it depends on your budget, what size property you are looking for, rental or purchase, furnished or not if a rental. Béziers is a great place to live! And it's very affordable, with prices on the rise in the long term (suffering a dip currently, like everywhere, but that's great for those arriving). I suggest you look for the anglophone Facebook group and join and ask a few questions in there.
@AdminAngel34
Hi, hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
In answer to you question, we are looking for a small 1/2Â bed apartment to buy but unfortunately we have a very small budget of 100.000 max. so obviously we know we will have to make compromises.
However, we do still intend to visit the area sometime in February
Ann
@bresdon17 Hi Ann - you can definitely get an apartment for that amount in Béziers. It may be tricky on the outside space front, but if you are patient, you may find a place with a small terrace. We should touch base before your trip, although I'm not sure how to do that as one is not allowed to exchange contact details in these message threads... Did you say you joined the Béziers anglo FB group? Best, Nicole Hammond
I joined beziers.com a d beziers Anglo

We are all immigrants. Do any of you worry that the mayor of Beziers is extreme right and violently against immigration?
@bresdon17
Just curious, why move after all that time?. My wife and I want to move to that area. Do you not enjoy your time there?
Thank you.

@bresdon17And I do not belong to any Facebook groups as I don't participate much in Facebook but if you let me know which one you're in I will go and join. I added my email to my note earlier but I think that they delete it as they don't allow you to put contact information. I tried to give you my email via code I left off the Gmail.com part. I do have a website for my company it's ots-training.com
@dangarciausa
Hi it is stupid that we can't exchange emails. I know it leaves us open to scam & abuse but it also means we miss out on contacts. IF this does reach you my email is  ***   Like you l only use Facebook when l really have but l have joined ***s in the hope of gleaning information.
How much info did you receive about the house as the screen kept disappearing at my end.
I am currently in the UK caring for a very old aunt to give the family some respite but l am home in France about 23rd. January when l can send you all details and photographs and all info about the area.
Let me know if this is ok    Ann Ford

Hi Nicole,
I contacted you earlier this year as we are looking to relocate to Beziers. After lots of delays we are finally able to come down to Narbonne and Beziers in early October so I hope we have the chance to meet up for a coffee or a glass of vino. it is a very exciting time for us after living in the Charente Maritime for the last 20years we want a change of pace and to be nearer the sea.
Hope you remember us and hope to see you in OctoberÂ

Hi Ann and Les
Of course I remember you! That's great news that things are falling into place. Let's organise something! I'll PM you... All the best, Nicole
Hi Im Charity,
I am planning to move to Beziers France within the next few months. I have a 1 year old baby as well. I am planning to come over on a 1 Year Liberte Visa as I work remote as a Technical Writer. The plan is to eventually become citizens.Â
Looking to connect with people who have gone to Beziers, people who love the Lord, people in tech, and just anyone who is somewhere on this process.
I live in Fife Scotland. i am male in my seventies. in november i am coming to Beziers staying in an airb nb for 12 days . i will be using this time to try to find a long term let.
i am on my own so all i need a maximum of 2 bedrooms. any help will be appreciated
my name is Lewis Pace.
My husband and I are coming to Beziers in may. We have been looking at several houses in the area. Could anyone recommend a realtor for this area.
Hi,
I'm visiting Beziers later this month to find an apartment to purchase. Ideally I'll purchase in the center to be able to walk everywhere. I don't have a driver's license. Do I need to be able to drive to enjoy the area? Also, I lack self control and am likely to buy a Peniche to cruise in the summer. Should I purchase a place i can let as an AirBnB when I'm not in residence? Which visa let's me earn via AirBnB?
Yes driving is absolutely necessary in this area, to drive to the coast, rivers, lakes, Canal du Midi etc...
Any place with an outside space can be rented out for AIRBNB. Do you have my email to contact me? my website?
Kind regards
Freddy
Freddy,
Thank you for the reply. I guess I'll need to take driving lessons.
I do have the URL for your website.
Regards,
Kathyna
