As a fellow American Nurse in Ireland, I am shocked and distressed at how difficult it is to find a GP let alone preventative care. After working in multiple hospitals I would rate the healthcare system here as a disgrace. We are still stuck in the "doctors are Gods" and can act however they want.  Since working here I have been screamed at, slapped and been treated with such disrespect.  It's amazing the "ethos" of most hospitals here is dignity, respect kindness etc. But apparently nurses are not worthy of receiving any of these. I can only hope someone will change this system. Not to mention  the pay here is ridiculous. The cost of living is out of control and nurses don't make nearly enough to live and work here. I made twice as much in the US in 2017 than I make now, and the cost of living was way less.
