Moving household goods to Malta

Pandorak

I am planning on moving to Malta from the UK.

I am an EU citizen so don't require a visa for entry, but can anyone advice what paperwork is required to move my household goods to Malta from the UK.

I have a friend with a van, so don't plan to use a mover, so I have to navigate the bureaucracy myself. I have two concerns :

1) Entering France from the UK. What do I need to be allowed to bring the goods into France on the way to Malta

2) Entering Malta. What paperwork is required to bring goods into Malta

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi Pandorak.

I'm not sure what would be involved for France, but the following link may provide you with some guidance for the Malta aspect.

Please keep in mind if you will be renting a property in Malta, the vast majority of rentals will be fully finished and equipped.

Drove to Malta from the UK in 2017 ( before  brexit), with my belongings,  no problem  through  France or  Italy,  luckily  I had bought an apartment  here before,    things different  now after Brexit,  look.at Malta.gov.mt  for info.

Good  luck.
