San Gwann, looking over tha valley side, is a very nice/rich area..so you did good. If there are no expats living there, you'll find them in Sliema and St.julians..which is walking distance.

I personally don't think there are "bad" areas to live in Malta though. What I consider a bad location is near an industrial area, one on a busy road,a place where it's difficult to find parking or a place with barking dogs...The people are generally the same everywhere on the island so there's no difference in that aspect.

We am renting a property in San Gwann (overlooking the valley). Is this a nice area to live?? Im a bit worried because I have just noticed from the "network map" that no other expats are living there...?! Why not?!

Nice.  Personally I live on the other side of the valley in Swieqi though no longer looking over it having bought a house down need the Swieqi bridge on a quiet side road.  Parking is always a problem near mine on a night time as it is popular for people walking to the clubs of Paceville, but with a double drive and garage it is one of the areas that is not a bad area to live in even with parking problems.

Where you are is probably 2 minutes walk from where I work (if that) and is a great area to start out in as you are close to shops and the main touristy area, but far enough out not to be disturbed by them.

San Gwann is too far away to Paceville and Saint Julians or Sliema..

I think someone doesn't walk a lot (neither do I but I have no problems with that walk.)

Hi Damsel,

Sorry for the snake scare!

I didn't realize there are any snakes on the island ! I've never seen one in two years despite being a Ramblers member and walking the countryside once or twice a week.

Take a picture next time you see a snake ( if you can still hold the camera still).

Regards
Ricky
