Find a job before or after moving?

Hello
I am from the UK but would like to move to Malta. I haven't moved abroad before so perhaps I am a little naive.

Do people normally find a job before they move, or do they just go abroad and find a job once there? I have applied for a couple of roles but I am unsure how far they will go. I have this fear about leaving my comfortable (boring...) role in the UK incase I can't find anything in Malta or back in the UK. Perhaps I just need to take this risk!

I am a professionally qualified accountant so I think Malta has some good potential for me professionally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, with a lot of jobs it鈥檚 easier to find something over here but an accountancy position may be easier to contact the employment agencies beforehand.
Have you visited Malta before?聽 If not it would be advisable to come over for a holiday before deciding on moving here.

I have visitied Malta before and really loved it. I have contacted a couple already - just exploring options at the moment.

i would advise you come over with enough money to last 3 months and look for a job here. it shows to employers that you are here and you wont get cold feet and pull out.
Also you will get a better salary offer as you are already in sunny Malta. ;-)

My husband works for Reed Malta recruitment, I think it鈥檚 worth emailing/calling them as they could give you an idea of how quickly they could find a role with your skill set. From what I can gather, finding a job is like renting, it shouldn鈥檛 take long
