Salary PhD student in Trondheim

Hi everyone,

I am moving to Norway for a PhD at NTNU, Trondheim. I am getting a salary of 420000 NOK.

I would like to know the following:

1. How much net salary per month does this income translate to?

2. Are there any additional allowances for students in terms of taxes/ accommodation/ health benefits?

Hello,

I also did a PhD in Norway. I got a salary of 360,000 when I started, which was about 20,000 a month if I remember. Something like that anyway. I don't think there are any other benefits. In contrast to many countries, PhD students are treated as normal employees. At least that was my experience.
