US º£½ÇÂÒÂ×s - investment brokerage

sponger

Here’s a question for other US expats currently living in Portugal who invest:

what are you doing for your personal investments in terms of a brokerage (for funds/ETFs)? Are you keeping your US accounts (I.e. Fidelity or Schwab) active and continuing to use these under a US address or have you opened up a PT brokerage account and invest through one of these?

i know with a US brokerage account you can’t technically buy any type of Fund or ETF if resident in Portugal (and have a PT address). I also know a couple of expats who simply changed the address of their accounts to family member still in the US so they can continue investing. I wanted to know what others on this forum are doing?

I see YouTube channels like Our Rich Journey who are very open about their investment accounts and the funds they invest in, but they aren’t technically able to make these investments unless they are claiming a different residency.
