ziegelaa2001

HI:

If I apply for a D7 visa, and show enough savings for the first year ,does that suffice?

I have enough and over and also retirement accounts?

Can people work with this visa?

Savings are not considered for D7. You need to show proof of monthly passive income. Thia can be from pensions or investments. ***

I have investment accounts that exceed the passive income requirements if we took a more conservative strategy.  Would this be sufficient?

@ziegelaa2001 no you need permanent passive income at least equal to the Portuguese minimum wage per year. That's either a pension or annuity only.

With a D7 you can not work. That is a retirement visa. We only had to show enough savings for a year and our monthly income as well as health insurance.

@sarazindarci - you should make absolutely certain before advising like this. You are categorically wrong.

@ziegelaa2001 You are 100% allowed to work, start a business or do any other form of commercial activity. The D7 Titulo de Residencia card has the words "Permite o exercicio de activ. profissional" on the back, granting you those rights.

@sarazindarci,

The D7 visa is a passive income visa, i.e. income that does not come from work. But with this visa you can have a residence permit and then do whatever you want: dependent/independent work, remote work, doing nothing, open a business, etc...
