If the Portuguese people don't even know what the next government will be like, and how long it will last, how can you conclude that?

This NHR status is not part of the parties' electoral programmes. The biggest threat will be from the far left, not the far right.

I don't think the question was aimed at you, bartpeters909.

The best answer out of the above seems to be "who knows?"  I personally don't expect any move towards extreme anything, but it seems like the whole world is destabilizing lately and we can't really take much for granted.  If NHR is what you're asking about, obviously that has fallen somewhat out of favor, and it wouldn't take an extreme right government to bring further bad news for it, so ... if you have a decision to make where you'd be ruined if NHR were pulled out from under you, I'd call that a bad risk.

If you do actually wish to know then just contact any "extreme right
political party" or parties of your choice and they'd almost certainty
be overjoyed spew their policies in your direction. Obviously as you
identify as an Foreigner it may be better to keep this particular revaluation under wraps.

PS.  I think the Britisher expression would be more along the lines of " extreme right political party were to democratically elected" rather than "seize power".

Sort of vaguely related, I see today rtp.pt carries a story from Lusa about aspects of Portugal immigration law that don't fit the EU model.  The particular issue is a very lenient policy for a worker who enters the country and gets a job, without a permanent work visa or any such thing.  If you've encountered a phrase that translates to "manifestation of interest" while trying to change your fiscal address, that's part of it.  Artlcles 88 and 89.  It has made Portugal a big draw for people trying to enter the EU and swamped the immigration system, and reportedly a substantial number of them go on to just stay illegally.  One of the interviewed parties proposes that this could strengthen the extreme right or extreme political currents.

Regardless of the elections outcomes, there could be some changes to the law in this area, which would take a few years, and a concurrent crackdown on people here illegally.

Just to clarify: i already have the nhr, it was issued to me the day after last Christmas, i also already have a location, so its not like i still need to decide

Your message is out of context. @bartpeters909 is a Belgian citizen, with NHR status. Posts should be directed towards helping those who ask, and not into other diverse and extrapolated topics.
