Is there anyone who can help

My cargo came to Portugal by see just over a year

Now I have to pay tax

It was shipped 16sep only arrived 11nov

I came to stay in portugal in October 2023

So customs says l it's over a yers so pay duty

Have you applied for a Baggage Certificate from the Portuguese consulate in your country of origin?

It could be immaterial, though, if the import is over the 12 month limit.聽 I think that's the question.聽 I couldn't easily find the specific language on that, which could be of interest if (as I understand it) the goods were shipped starting within the limit, but arriving after.聽 In the very unlikely case the article that governs this really refers to the shipment start date, then this is just an error at customs (assuming the baggage certificate and everything else is in order.)

In the much more likely case the exemption expiration is relative to date of entry into Portugal, then I guess one pays the tax.聽 Welcome to Portugal, it won't be the last time you'll have to pay some taxes.
