I need a job!!

Tom6733

Hi all,
My name is Tom, I´m Irish, 40 years young, have been living in Spain for several years, speak the local language, and have been TRYING to find a job for about 2 years, without any joy.
My favourite work experience to date was with Microsoft in Dublin where I was leading a team of "fantastic admins" from Portugal, Poland, Italy, Germany, and Spain with handling pricing requests from sales teams worldwide, which was loads of fun. Why did I leave - I had to have a back operation and so due to health reasons had to be operated on in Spain and then chose the better climate.
These days I´m looking for teaching, admin, translation, courier etc work but my preference is to work in a Back Office Sales Support role, similar to that in Microsoft. I live in Alicante and am more than willing to move city for the right job.

If there´s anyone out there who´s looking for a good, honest and fun worker like me, I´d really appreciate the help.

Cheers
Tom :)

Thanks for the message. I´m already registered with those.

I believe the fact that there´s a gap in my experience, due to an operation, is why I´m not getting any positive emails or calls. I did also go to companies, give them my cv and call back but to no avail. I do have the experience and I speak Spanish.

I know I´m not alone with this situation though as I´m aware of one friend, who like me, is Irish and married to a Spanish woman, who lives and works in Ireland and visits his wife whenever he can, and that´s the point I´m reaching.

In the local library and on notice boards in my large village, I put up adverts for working as a cleaner, translator, teaching English, walking dogs, helping senior citizens etc. I´ve also been working as a volunteer with the Red Cross for almost two years but need paid employment.

I had a rush of business ideas the other night, such as, for a market stall and have one very good "workable" idea for tourists if anyone out there is interested in joining me.

When I´m not job hunting, I´m a house husband, do the shopping and take care of our dogs. I´m also doing an online course with Google in order to bring myself up to speed with business in 2018, to make up for the gap during which I haven´t had paid employment.

On the plus side (!!!), following recent flights to Ireland, I came up with an idea and am following up on this with every language school I can find in Spain...to make things turn for myself as I have always been a quick think who thinks outside the box.

Cheers!
Tom
