Weekly º£½ÇÂÒÂ× get-together
Hey º£½ÇÂÒÂ×s!
Time for a second get-together for a drink among expats.
Everyone is welcome!
Where? In restaurante Jota. It is near Metro Bilbao, just off of Fuencarral street (20 meters behind Starbucks).
When? Wednesday (2nd March) Starting at 9:30pm ...30 minutes later than last week.
Eat something first or come hungry. The restaurant is having a special "hunting" culinary week with raciones for 6€.
Contact me if you have any doubts.

PS...We are open to suggestions for good places to meet. Somewhere relaxed with good tapas and space to mill around.

Hi,
I'm Mavi. I have a bar in the centre of Madrid and I would like to made a group of people for speaking English. I'm studying in Escuela Oficial de Idiomas and I need to practise the language.
I have a lot of classmates who are interested in it too.
Hello everyone!
The second meeting of expats was a great evening out. A good way to get over the Wednesday mid-week hump by having a drink with many interesting new friends from all over the world.
This week (Wed March 9th) we will be meeting at Restaurante Jota again. Time 9:30.
Pass on the details to all your expat friends! Even if you can't make it, get the word out.
PS. The basic idea is to provide a way for expats to meet other expats, which is different than the language exchange evenings... not better, just different.
Next one...Wednesday March 16th in Chueca.
9pm In bar 24 (tapas and drinks)
Later 22h+ Moving on to Angel Azul
Later, I will get back with more details and the exact address for the locations.
Cheers,
Troy (United Statesian)
PS If you send me your email I will add you to a "mailing list" with weekly updates on the meetings.
Here are the location links for the next expat meeting on Wednesday, 16th:
We will meet in Chueca in a tapas bar at 9pm in "El 22 de San Marco", Calle de Bartolomé, 4

any more updates? Have just arrived in Madrid
Hello º£½ÇÂÒÂ×s!
Sorry for the silence. I just found out that we are moving to the Middle East at the end of May. So I won't be able to organize anymore º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Night Out activities.
Anybody (or multiple people) could pick up the torch and continue with the idea.
Position requires a person who can:
1. Name a location
2. Name a time
3. Name a day
That is about it. Anyone game? Start a new post and get the ball rolling!
Hasta luego,
Sorry to see you go. These soirees sound like the perfect networking event.
Are they this just for expats? What about adventurous souls like myself that endeavor to start a new life in this great city you all call home?
Basically I'm asking if I show up will I be stuck in the corner because the only thing worst than my Spanish is my Catalan?
Hi everyone, I'm Jimmy, with Troys departure I have landed and taken over letting us all know where to meet.
Since I am a bit of a tech nerd, I setup [no free ads] At that site you can sign up to the expat meetup mailing list and I will let everyone know when we are meeting.
So please sign up to the mailing list so we can all get together here in Madrid.

Hi,
How can I sign up to the expat meetup mailing list ?
My email: 'furisern@gmail.com'.
I am a french living in Madrid for more than 3 years now. I can speak spanish and english (and french sure).
How much people more or less in these meetings ? Do you speak english or spanish or is there any 'best practice' there ?
A friend of mine is half spanish-half french, has lived in spanish all his live but talks well french. She wanted to exchange some lessons/conversations with portuguese talking people. I think there were some meetings for that too ?
Thxs in advance for any hint.
Heya. I noticed that there haven't been any announcements for meetups in July. Is it on hiatus? I'm here until the end of the month and I want to catch at least one before flying out.
