Vaccines required in Sweden

Diksha

Hello everybody,

When living or moving abroad, and in particular in Sweden, vaccination against certain diseases is often required to enter the country or to avoid risks.

We would like to ask you a few questions to help future expats there.

What is your relationship to vaccines in general?

Did you get vaccinated before moving to Sweden?
Were these vaccinations compulsory or recommended?

Did you refuse to get any vaccine that was recommended for Sweden? If so, why?

If you are an expatriate in Sweden, are you encouraged to get a COVID-19 vaccine? Do you have access to the vaccine and do you plan to get it?

Is this vaccine required for entering the country now?

Many thanks,

Diksha,

Before covid 19 Sweden had no compulsory or recommended vaccines for people who moved in to the country regardless of whether you are an immigrant, expat, asylum seeker etc.  Still there are no compulsory or recommended vaccines to take.

For all the inhabitants of the country who are over 18 years old, there is an ongoing campaign now just has started to encourage them to get vaccinated against covid 19, however they have a certain strategy to follow, for instance they start with the people who are in the highest risk group first and advance from there in relation to the supply of vaccines.

EU is in the stage of discussion now to have an electronic vaccination certificate to use between the countries in order to have all the borders open for EU inhabitants. So it will apply to Sweden as well.

All the information above is from different authorities which I read on your behalf for few minutes ago. I personally have no interest in vaccines at all, that is my answer to your first question.
