Bahrain Aquarium Club
Yes,, send me ur email or PM me.. and i will send them to you.. and by the way,, i will send u another email of a person who has lot of plants and u can get what u need when u are here...
Hi There,
You can get fishes of different kinds & aquatic plants for aquascaping..co2 even branded substrate too etc...in following area.
budayah highway
um al hassam
Regards,
Hassan
thank you hassan. actually, i dont need anymore equipment. what i need are algae eating fishes and more plants. what kind of aquarium you keep?
These are easily available but chinese algae eater..I have siamese in my tank.. got lucky..I am keeping planted aquarium..have asorted plants with little christmas moss and java moss..slightly moving towards aquascape..
i have a LOT of chinese algae eaters already.
its because its the only algae eating fish i can find besides the janitor catfish which is just too big to stay or hang around on top of the fine leafed plants.
i am searching for otos, shrimps and nerite snails. do you ever find these in bahrain?
Actually..u should see the reason of algae growth..remember if it is brown algae then no algae fish gonna eat it.brown algae is diatoms.if u r not using CO2 for plants then algae will absorb those nutrient that Co2 control for plants.brown algae will go in few months if ur tank is new. And green algae will take place..u cannot depend upon plecos or loaches to get rid of algae.2nd reduce light timing.regarding shrimps..cherry shrimps are not available from many months in bahrain..and in easternregion in ksa nobody brings shrimps ..yes wood shrimps are available in bahrain but the don't breed..
wow, you are very knowledgeable about this things. i'm impressed. actually, i am not so novice either.
can we chat via email? much easier to do it there. you can pm me ur add. thanks!
Hi everyone, I am new here
Can anybody list the places in Bahrain where i can get Freshwater fish and equipment's?
I am a Bahraini but i see the options are very limited, like Budaya highway or Umalhassum or Sitra highway. is there any other place that have some high tech. equipment's and better varaity of fishes?
if you know any palace, please let me know
Dear Mohsin,, visit the Sayed Shop in Adliya,, he has canisters, for BD 8 and the set will cost u only BD 15 or 20,, it will be enought for ur requirements...
@Mohsen Ali: i have 2 new CO2 regulators i bought a few months ago but never used. got a little confused with the fittings between european and american. one is aqua medic (european) and the other is SMITH CO2 REGULATOR CGA320 MED DUTY SERIES 30-100-320 (american). if you are interested pm me. got a lot more items i never used that i want to get rid of (eheim filters, etc.). im planning to sell them on ebay but would like to offer here first.
hi michael
your proposed project is interesting, though i don't have aquarium on my own, but there is 1 aquarium in our flat, i used to have an aquarium before, but different circumstance do happen, but i love fish, so just let me know when and where.
Hello everyone,
I have some aquarium stuff (eheim filter and pumps, co2 regulators, tunze pumps, etc..) I bought online this year but never really used and now I want to get rid of. I plan to sell them on eBay but wanted to offer here first. If you are interested, pm me. I can meet up with you in Khobar on weekends or I can ship it to you via registered mail. Thank you.
Hi,, we need this to happen,, so i am in,, i have sent u a PM..
Any 1 out there.. who can join in and lets do it then..
Cheers Michael..
Hi guys, we should start a society or club ... Seriously let's meet and share our knowledge of aquatic .
Hi Michael good day to you I'm Sid and I'm staying here in Manama Bahrain and I love fish keeping. Currently Im keeping discus fish. Count me in your group. Thanks.
Hi Michael and all hobbyists.
Before I moved to Bahrain, there were 6 tanks in my flat, each tank was almost 150 lt and full of discusses. I was planning to start again in Bahrain but then I changed my mind and I'm just visiting some aquarium shops for watching fishes.
It will be a great pleasure for me to meet you.
Shall we arrange a meeting?
violetsub wrote:I m very interested with this topic, I'm having difficulty to know which water to use fresh water or tap water... My fishes are going to heaven one by one..
Thanks,
what kind of fishes you already have? As you know, tap water in Bahrain is mostly r/o from sea. For this reason, I guess ph of tap water may be very less (if water authority doesnt add some chemicals for increasing the ph). So this means some kind of fishes cannot live in health for a long time.
Secondly, I still couldnt be able to watch healthy freshwater fishes here. Generally sick or weak fishes living in the tanks of aquarium shops (which one's I already visited)
hello,
i have some extra vallisneria rubra in my tank which I want to dispose of. Vallisneria rubra has a reddish tint on their leaves which I really like coz I am big fan of vallisnerias in general. If you want to swap with another plant or buy from me, just sent me a pm. Thank you.
anybody here knows where to buy f/w shrimps? I badly need some coz my tank is being overrun by all types of algae - bba, gsa, thread....
Let me know if you have any leads...
Thank you.
Hello Aquaheads
Someone mentioned it's possible to find branded substrates, plants, and even Co2 on Budeya and in Um Al hasam...now I've been to Fish World in Budeya, and they shop next door to it, and to Wonder Fish, Wonder Land, and Reefs and Rivers in Um Al hasam. Am I missing something here? Â
Are there hidden shops I don't know about?
Regards
Hi everyone
I agree, we should arrange to meet one of these weekends for coffee and have a chat about how to get an Aquarium Club started. Then we can start to have some meet ups and swaps for fish, plants, equipment...maybe even presentations or talks and things like that. Group orders from abroad for things that are unavailable locally should be possible too!
Let's get this started!
Regards
Michael Salter
Hi Michael... so sad that i already left bahrain... like you i also love aquariums... when i was there i kept two 60 gallons and one 30 gallons plus three 15-gallon hospital tanks... was keeping african cichlids as well... did some 3D aquascaping in my two 60... and did my own filtering systems as well... sadly i went off last feb and gave all my tanks to two friends there...
Hopefully you'll be successful in putting up an aquarium club there...
cheers mate

Hello Michael,
I'm in. It's really good idea.
As a suggestion, we can meet at Veranda Cafe / Adliya (this place have separate places for sisha smokers, cigarette smokers and also for non smokers. Also they have open air place). What about 23.02.2013 saturday afternoon or evening?
Does everybody ready to meet? :-)
Regards,
Ihsan Ozbakir

Hi every one,i live in Gudaybiya and i recently bought an aquarium from a local shop here about 6 weeks ago.i don't even know how many gallons it is. So u can understand i am in need of your help. i have read all i can since then.but those ppl don't live here. and one more thing i can't find this group "Bahrain Aquarium Society" in Facebook. i need to know as a beginner what type of fish i can have or if i can change it from artificial plants to natural plants. I had 4 mollies and 6 tiger barbs and but only 3 sailfinn mollies survived the ICK disease. now there is no sign of the disease for 4days. still they are in medicated water.
so can anyone tell me this facebook group how to locate it for first.
Thanks A Lot !!
Have A Nice day Ahead !!
